4 Days Kidepo Valley National Park for Birding and Game Safari

Wildlife
kidepo valley national park contains one of the most exciting faunas of any Ugandan national parks. Along with the neighboring Karamoja region, it houses many species found nowhere else in Uganda, including the greater and lesser kudu, Eland and cheetah. Carnivores here include; lions, leopard, spotted hyena and black-backed and side-striped jackals. Other large species regularly seen here are elephant, Burch ell’s zebra, warthog, Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo, bushbuck, bush duiker, Defassa waterbuck, Bohor reedbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest and oribi.
Birds
kidepo valley national park boasts an extensive bird list of approximately 475 species, making it second only in Uganda to Queen Elizabeth National Park. A few species of note are the Ostrich, Kori Bustard and Karamoja Apalis.
Kidepo is notable for its birds of prey. Of the 56 species recorded, 14 – including; Verreaux’s Eagle, Egyptian Vulture and Pygmy Falcon – are believed to be endemic to the Kidepo and Karamoja region.
Detailed itinerary;
Day 1: Arrival: You will be picked from Airport by our company representative and check in to The Boma Hotel for refreshing. Depending on your time of arrival, you will either rest or visit the Uganda Wildlife centre Entebbe.
Day 2: Kampala - Kidepo National Park.
After breakfast, we will transfer you to Entebbe International air port for the flight to Kidepo National Park at 12:30hrs arriving at 14:45hrs. Pick up by the management of Apoka Safari Lodge and transferred to the Lodge. Have an evening game drive. Look out for birds, elephants, burchells Zebras, warthogs (bush pigs) and buffaloes.
Dinner and Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (Full board)
Day 3: Full day game drive and birding adventure!!
After breakfast, a morning game drive around the Narus Valley with a ranger guide to help in sighting of the game, look out for more birds, lesser kudus only found in this Park in Uganda , Elands, Elephants, Spotted hyenas among others. Return for relaxation and lunch and thereafter in the evening, head out for yet another game drive for further game viewing. Dinner and Overnight in Apoka Safari Lodge (Full board)
Day 4
Take another game drive in the morning. Return to the lodge late morning and enjoy brunch. Depart Kidepo for Entebbe Airport (15h00 / 16h30). Our representative will be waiting at the Airport to receive you back to Entebbe. Back to your hotel. The Boma Hotel

NB: Scheduled flights to Kidepo from Entebbe and back operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Therefore your travel dates would be chosen within these days.
